Once upon a time I was someone else-on the way to self-identity

How many times did you ask yourself the question „Who am I?“. This is the most essential and existential question one could ask. The times you ask yourself who you are are usually times of change and transformation. They are good and challenging. In both cases they mean a change. Your Self is transformative and so are you as a whole. Don‘t be afraid asking, chasing your Self, stretching it, adjusting it ask surprising it. Embrace and honor who you are and go new ways, go your way. What if you want to be someone who does not fit with society’s traditional roles? Do you dare to be? And if not why? The only jury of your own life is YOU! If you accept and love this other new Self, so will the world learn to embrace it too. Here are my five tips for you on this journey of defining your identity:

1. Ask yourself who you are today? Your self-identification and present Self
2. Ask yourself who you want to be? Your dreams and your future Self. What is it that you want to change and how do you want to show up?
3. Ask yourself what it will take to get to your future Self? Are you yet ready to go on the journey and who do you want to take with you? What resources of love and support do you have?
4. Ask yourself what you are ready to give up, to risk or change to be where you want to be?
5. Ask yourself what do you love about your current Self and would like to keep and take with you on the way to your future Self.

You choose who you want to be and how you want to show up every day. Don‘t let others decide for you and put you in roles and boxes you no longer fit. I was once a shy little girl and I am now a strong accomplished woman. I still have the little girl in me and embrace who I was, who I am and who I want to be.
